This is the last blog in the travel boudoir series from Florida, and possibly one of my favorite... though it's such a close race because I love ALL of the posts so much! My heart is in the forest, that's where I feel the most connected to nature, and the most at peace. It also proved to be the most challenging shoot of all of them. The day before we photographed this portion of the series we were scouting locations and I saw the dappled light. At first I was kind of bummed because dappled light is very hard to work with in most scenarios because the exposure is so different in the bright areas where the sun is shining though than it is in the darker areas. This causes the bright areas to "blow out", or turn completely white and lack all details. Not so pretty. While we were walking I had an idea, so I took a test shot to see if it would work and HOLY SMOKES did it ever work! Not only did it work, but it looked just as awesome as I thought it would in my head!!! It created a mysterious and moody look to the photos. It was a challenge to find the perfect spots, with the light hitting the right places and the background not too busy, but when we did it was magic! I can't wait to do more outdoor sessions!
Now that this is the last post from this series I'm going to have to go out and do another destination session!
That being said, we're open for booking TODAY for our next beach shoot, which will be held in Navarre Beach, Florida on July 15-17. Our space is very limited, so call now to book: 225-571-3668.
Each session will include hair and makeup styling and a sunset or sunrise session on the sugar white sands of Navarre Beach. We will send out a questionnaire once you book your session to determine what style beach session you would like to do (soft flowing fabrics, sexy swim suit, tastefully erotic, etc.). Your session will be completely customized for you. You don't have to be completely nude for this session, you can wear whatever you want to wear. You could even make it a couple's session!
The cost of the session will be $650 (plus tax), which is due when the session is booked.

“Hold out your hands to feel the luxury of sunbeams. Press the soft blossoms against your cheek, and finger their graces of form, their delicate mutability of shape, their pliancy and freshness. Expose your face to the aerial floods that sweep the heavens, ‘inhale great draughts of space,’ wonder, wonder at the wind’s unwearied activity. Pile note on note the infinite music that flows increasingly to your soul from the tactual sonorities of a thousand branches and tumbling waters. How can the world be shriveled when this most profound, emotional sense, touch, is faithful to its service? I am sure that if a fairy bade me choose between the sense of sight and that of touch, I would not part with the warm, endearing contact of human hands…” ― Helen Keller, The Open Door
This is the second post in the travel boudoir series from Florida. To start at the beginning, click here. I think this is the most successful outdoor shoot I've ever done in terms of portraying passion and sensuality. I love the way you can almost feel what she's feeling in each photo. To me, that's what makes a photo successful, if it evokes emotions and feelings. Photographing beach boudoir made it easy to bring out the passion, being in the sun and sand feels so sexy to begin with!
There's honestly so much more I want to do in the great big wide world we have, this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you missed the first segment of this series click here. Great news! Travel boudoir is now something we officially offer at Breathless Boudoir! We will start in July with a destination beach boudoir shoot out at Navarre, FL. Contact me for more information! These travel sessions will have very limited availability and spots will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. In a dry lake bed in a Nevada desert, right outside of Las Vegas, 30mph winds slapped us in the face as we stepped out of the car. If you're not sure exactly what 30mph winds feel like (drive 30 miles an hour and stick your head out of the window.... just kidding!), it's strong enough to hold up 15 yards of fabric and the wind keeps it from touching the ground. It was exactly what we had hoped for! The ground was as flat as it could possibly be with giant cracks painted like puzzle pieces across the lake bed. Mountains were in the distance on all sides of us and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. Perfect day for a desert shoot! When we first met up with Arden Leigh we were blown away by how personable she is. She is what you would call a mover and a shaker. Arden is the author of the book The New Rules of Attraction: How To Get Him, Keep Him, and Make Him Beg For More, and founder of the Sirens Seduction Forum for Women. She writes a monthly advice column for Auxiliary Magazine and blogs regularly at www.ardenleigh.typepad.com.
While Arden was amazing to work with, and the weather was.... what we thought was perfect... there were definitely some challenges that we hadn't expected. This was our first desert shoot, and first of many more to come travel destination boudoir shoots. The wind... which was what we wanted, right? Was a bit too much for our 4x6 reflector we ordered JUST FOR THIS SHOOT. It transformed it into a rectangular kite. Yeah, that's right. We ordered a HUGE reflector and flew to Vegas with it. Had to check it on the flight and carry it back home, didn't even use it. Ha! It was also quite a bit colder than we expected but Arden was quite a trooper! She pushed through the cold (shaking, poor thing) until I finally called the shoot.
