TWO PHOTOGRAPHERS. SEVEN WOMEN. A GORGEOUS VILLA IN ITALY. THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME.

Screen Shot 2015-08-07 at 3.30.59 PM The Fearless destination boudoir photography retreats are about friendship, art, and leaving your everyday self behind. We all get caught up in the day-to-day necessities of life; this is a chance to find the self that gets lost in the shuffle of life and laundry and to-do lists.

Your trip centers around destination boudoir photography, a chance to see yourself in a new way and find a new love for your perfectly imperfect body in some of the world’s most beautiful places. But it’s so much more than that. Every year people come home with cherished new friends, stories they can’t wait to share, and a new kind of confidence. When I started holding these retreats I couldn’t possibly imagine the wonderful thing they would become.

Read more about our previous adventures here.

Check out the travel gallery here and here

The retreats aren’t for everyone. They’re not a sterile 5-star resort experience, though we rent some incredible estates as our homes away from home. They are about real women in quirky, gorgeous places, pushing their boundaries and having adventures and forging new friendships. And they are amazing.

THE PHOTOGRAPHERS

Star Newman: The warm, enthusiastic bohemian tomboy ringleader that will make sure you have the time of your life. Check out my travel boudoir portfolio and some destination boudoir blog posts to see more of what I do.

Jen Trombly: Artistic, sensual, gorgeous and deeply real- this describes both Jen and her work. You can see Breathless Boudoir’s destination portfolio here. Give her half a chance and Jen will get you naked and leave you wanting more. 😉

THE LOCATION

This October we are going to Italy, to a private villa in Umbria with sprawling grounds, a high wooden walkway and breakfast terrace, heated indoor/outdoor pool and incredible view of the surrounding countryside. Each woman will have a fully styled boudoir photography session in the villa and surrounding estate- get ready to become art. We will cook most of our meals at home using fresh ingredients from the nearby town, and we’re even arranging a cooking class so you can bring a taste of Umbria home with you.

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

The best part of the trip, of course. You don’t have to be comfortable in front of a camera to do this. You don’t have to be photogenic. It is our job to coach you, to teach you how to relax for the camera, and to bring out your most beautiful self. We are professionals and we guarantee you will have a wonderful time. All you need is a willingness to trust us.

We will be shooting in the villa, the pool, on the walkways and against the rough stone walls outside. We will explore the surrounding area, full of ancient medieval towns, and shoot spontaneously wherever we find beauty. You will come home with at least 50 of the best vacation photos anyone has ever had.

Virginia Nature Boudoir with waterfall

*BEEP BEEP BEEP* My alarm started going off at 4:30am.  Heavy with sleep, all I wanted to do was shut it off and roll back over to continue sleeping, but I had a mission to complete: create amazing fine art nude photos in front of a waterfall.  So I got my ass out of bed begrudgingly, it was still dark outside.  We counted 13 deer in the misty morning light on our hour drive to begin our hike.  We were the only car in the parking lot, save for the car that belonged to the campers who stayed the night before, and that was the whole point of waking up before the sun.  We wanted to get out there before anyone else did so we had time alone with the waterfall.  And we did, and it was so glorious! I was nearly *DROOLING* over what I saw on the back of my camera!  The light, the motion of the water, the grace in Laura's nude form... GAH!  Photographic ecstasy I tell you!

Photographing someone in a waterfall is no cakewalk.  For one, there was a waterfall directly behind Laura, so we had to communicate by yelling over the roaring water.  Not to mention the water was quite chilly.  Laura was a trooper though, she held very still for the 2 second exposures, even though there were things crawling on her at times.  The photos were definitely worth it though.  Laura is a photographer as well and has been on a mission of creating stunning waterfall photos.  She has done a series of self portraits, but wanted to have a chance to just be the model in the photos.  And now, she gets to be forever immortalized as fine art suitable for a gallery wall!  Just look at how the light flows across her skin like silk... mmmm.... sooo much love.

©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen TromblyThis is the last blog in the travel boudoir series from Florida, and possibly one of my favorite... though it's such a close race because I love ALL of the posts so much! My heart is in the forest, that's where I feel the most connected to nature, and the most at peace.  It also proved to be the most challenging shoot of all of them. The day before we photographed this portion of the series we were scouting locations and I saw the dappled light.  At first I was kind of bummed because dappled light is very hard to work with in most scenarios because the exposure is so different in the bright areas where the sun is shining though than it is in the darker areas. This causes the bright areas to "blow out", or turn completely white and lack all details.  Not so pretty.  While we were walking I had an idea, so I took a test shot to see if it would work and HOLY SMOKES did it ever work!  Not only did it work, but it looked just as awesome as I thought it would in my head!!!  ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen TromblyIt created a mysterious and moody look to the photos.  It was a challenge to find the perfect spots, with the light hitting the right places and the background not too busy, but when we did it was magic!  I can't wait to do more outdoor sessions! ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen Trombly ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen Trombly ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen Trombly ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen Trombly ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen Trombly

Now that this is the last post from this series I'm going to have to go out and do another destination session!

That being said, we're open for booking TODAY for our next beach shoot, which will be held in Navarre Beach, Florida on July 15-17.  Our space is very limited, so call now to book: 225-571-3668.

Each session will include hair and makeup styling and a sunset or sunrise session on the sugar white sands of Navarre Beach. We will send out a questionnaire once you book your session to determine what style beach session you would like to do (soft flowing fabrics, sexy swim suit, tastefully erotic, etc.). Your session will be completely customized for you.  You don't have to be completely nude for this session, you can wear whatever you want to wear.  You could even make it a couple's session!

The cost of the session will be $650 (plus tax), which is due when the session is booked.

Follow our blog (blue button at the bottom) to get immediate updates when we release more information about the beach shoots as well as new blogs.

©Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max TromblyContinuing the travel boudoir series, I had the honor of photographing my mother for the second time.  Yes, you heard that right, ^ this gorgeous woman is my mother.  We started off on the same rocks from the first post in this series (if you missed that post click here). ©Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max Trombly©Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max Trombly ©Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max TromblyNext we went to New Smyrna Beach, which is a clothing optional beach.  We played in the surf for hours and walked miles up and down the beach.  (Click here for more photos from New Smyrna Beach).

©Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max Trombly©Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max TromblyThen, something happened that I was not prepared for.  My mom asked for the camera.  I just laughed at first, but she was persistent.  So I handed her the camera.  The photos she produced actually blew my mind, and I'm now considering hiring her!  Ha ha!

“Hold out your hands to feel the luxury of sunbeams. Press the soft blossoms against your cheek, and finger their graces of form, their delicate mutability of shape, their pliancy and freshness. Expose your face to the aerial floods that sweep the heavens, ‘inhale great draughts of space,’ wonder, wonder at the wind’s unwearied activity. Pile note on note the infinite music that flows increasingly to your soul from the tactual sonorities of a thousand branches and tumbling waters. How can the world be shriveled when this most profound, emotional sense, touch, is faithful to its service? I am sure that if a fairy bade me choose between the sense of sight and that of touch, I would not part with the warm, endearing contact of human hands…” ― Helen Keller, The Open Door

This is the second post in the travel boudoir series from Florida.  To start at the beginning, click here. BreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_02_BWI think this is the most successful outdoor shoot I've ever done in terms of portraying passion and sensuality.  I love the way you can almost feel what she's feeling in each photo.  To me, that's what makes a photo successful, if it evokes emotions and feelings.  Photographing beach boudoir made it easy to bring out the passion, being in the sun and sand feels so sexy to begin with!

There's honestly so much more I want to do in the great big wide world we have, this is just the tip of the iceberg.  BreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_04_BW BreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_05_BW BreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_03 BreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_06_BW BreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_07_BWBreathlessBoudoir_fine_art_nude_beach_08_BW If you missed the first segment of this series click here. Fine Art Destination Boudoir Photography | Florida | Part 1 of 4

BreathlessBoudoir_destination_florida_0045_BWI don't think I've ever been more excited about a shoot (I probably say that after every epic shoot, but my job seriously never stops amazing me)!  A friend and I went to visit my mom in Florida so I could play around with creating some fine art nudes on the beach and rocks.  I was like a kid in a candy store! I shot so much that I'm going to have to break the blog about this trip into four parts! I LOVE BEACH BOUDOIR!!! So this will be part one of our travel boudoir series, part two will be posted next Monday.  Be sure to follow the blog (blue button at the bottom of this post) so you'll be notified when it's posted! My mom brought us to a beach that I like to refer to as Sedona beach.  The sand has a reddish hue like the dirt in Sedona, Arizona and there are these really awesome rock formations called coquina rocks.  These rocks are made up of billions of smashed up mollusks (tiny shelled creatures), their bodies are basically the glue that holds the shells together.  They make quite an amazing site!  The curves of the rocks compliment the curves of a nude figure perfectly. Everything flows together naturally and organically.

This first set of photos are from midday the first time we went to the rocks.  We were so in love with the way everything looked that we decided we had to come back for sunrise.  BreathlessBoudoir_destination_florida_0072_BW ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max Trombly ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max TromblyIf you know me, you know I am NOT a morning person.  There are two things I will roll out of bed for before the break of dawn; fishing and photoshoots.  Though, mornings like these make me want to wake up with the sun every.single.day.  The sea spray refreshingly misted us when the waves crashed onto the rocks and the air was crisp yet thick at the same time.  All the colors of our world were enhanced by the sun low in the horizon, slowly climbing it's way through the sky and stretching out it's rays as dawn unfurled.   ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max Trombly ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max Trombly There's a certain sense of peace that comes with standing at the shoreline as the sun awakens.  It's a calm peace that wraps itself around your skin, kissing and caressing your every pore.  To stand naked in it's presence is utter ecstasy that can't be matched.  The repetition of waves dance on your eardrums putting you in a state of hypnotic bliss.  It's like nothing else in the world exists, except you on this little spot where the sand meets the ocean.    BreathlessBoudoir_destination_florida_0503 ©2014 Breathless Boudoir | Jen & Max TromblyBreathlessBoudoir_destination_florida_0509_BW BreathlessBoudoir_destination_florida_0681_BW BreathlessBoudoir_destination_florida_0702_BW This is only the beginning of something that is going to be much, much bigger.  I'm so in love with photographing outdoors.  Stay tuned for more information on how YOU can do your own beach shoot in July!  Info will be posted here first, so make sure you follow the blog.

You can also contact me and check out our website. And, of course, on Facebook.

If you could go anywhere in the world....

Ashton_1181painter_I have a dream, and I'm working on making this dream a reality.  That's what you do when you want your dreams to come true, right?  You make them come true!  For the last few years I have had the desire to do boudoir sessions in exotic locations; think Italy, Greece, Schechelleyes Islands, Spain, Hawaii, etc.  I have to admit, the idea of organizing such a retreat is soooo incredibly seductive to me, but it's also daunting at the same time.  So I put it on the back burner and just kept the idea in my dreams.  Procrastinating on making it happen. THEN, I saw another boudoir photographer who I'm in a forum with post about her travel boudoir in Puerto Rico.  It was like reality slapping me in the face.  I was somewhat ashamed for letting my dream sit idle for so long.  I had a ridiculous pang of jealousy shoot through me (and I told her so!).  So I thought, "but wait, I don't have to be jealous, I just need to kick myself into gear and do it!"

So right now, I'm marking this moment as the moment I started planning a destination boudoir retreat!  I'm putting this out there in public to hold myself accountable (and so YOU guys can hold me accountable as well!)

Now, if YOU could do a boudoir session anywhere in the world, where would it be?

Maybe we'll meet there ;)

See ya in paradise!

Jen
